Case XX Camp Hatchet
with original box and sheath!
This is one of the nicest camp hatchets that I have seen in a long time. This hatchet must have been manufactured in the late 40's early 50's, going by the box. There is a label on the end that may be the original stock no., I have it pictured. I am sure someone with the right book can come up with the exact date. The only negative is that it has been sharpened and a rivet has been added to the sheath to make it ride better on your hip, also pictured. The box is stained on the inside with neatsfoot oil that was used on the sheath. Obviously this hatchet was cherished by someone. The finish is original and other than marks made when whet it shows no wear. The handle is tight and shows no damage. This, like I said before, is just the nicest example of this hatchet that I have seen. The only way to come up with one better would be new/old stock out of a time capsule!
