Fuller Public Library will be part of statewide Big Read
We are pleased to announce that during March 2010 Fuller Public Library will be part of The Big Read: New Hampshire Reads To Kill a Mockingbird. This statewide project, sponsored by the Center for the Book at the NH State Library, will include hundreds of “Big Read” events throughout the state.

Fuller Public Library’s Big Read program will begin Wednesday, March 3rd, with a kick-off event featuring music from the 1930s performed by Judy Fournier and Rick Busenbark. Refreshments will be served. You may pick up your copy of To Kill a Mockingbird at the kick-off event or at the library beginning March 4th.

On March 18th from 7-9 there will be a discussion of the book led by Martha Carlson-Bradley, independent scholar from Hillsborough; and on March 24th there will be a viewing of the movie, To Kill a Mockingbird, starring Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch.

All of the events are free and open to the public. Books may be borrowed for the length of the program.

The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) which gives communities the opportunity to come together and read, discuss and celebrate one of thirty selections from U.S. and world literature. In New Hampshire, the program is organized by the Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library, which received a grant to coordinate the statewide effort. The Center for the Book chose to focus on To Kill a Mockingbird because of its relevant themes of standing up for what is right, relationships between the races, courage, justice and more.

Downloadable audio books are fantastic!

With a library card, you can install free software, download books to your computer and listen to digital audio books on your computer or compatible MP3 device.

If you already have a library card, just come into the library for instructions and get started. If you don't have a library card, it just may time to get one!

If you have been having any difficulties, perhaps the links near the top of the page (on the left column) will help, especially the 'tour'. You may also find these directions, created by a patron, to be helpful. They include a note on using your iPod.
