Ever wonder what all those acronyms stand for and how/if they are related/connected?
So, think kangaroos, koalas, coral reefs, boomerangs and didgeridoos. Let your libraries become gateways to Australia and visit our neighbors "down under."
Please note: All NH public libraries will receive a free manual and a poster. We will not be providing manuals on CD this year, but artwork is available at the link above.
Catch the performers at the Spring CHILIS Conference on March 27 at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester (next to the Derryfield School on River Road).
Psst! The theme for next summer is “Summertime and the Reading is Easy”...

The Flume Award
: Now Accepting Nominations for The 2009 Flume Award.
The Flume: NH Teen Readers' Choice Award was created in 2005 in response to New Hampshire teens' request to have a book award geared towards high school students. A collaborative effort between school and public librarians, this statewide award gives students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to nominate books they think are worthy of recognition .
Each year teens are invited to nominate outstanding fiction and nonfiction titles, published within the last two years. Once nominations are collected, a group of school and public librarians choose 13 titles for a final list. Teens then vote for their favorite title on the list.
We encourage you to promote the 2008 Flume Award list, which can be found on the Flume website at http://www.nashualibrary.org/YALS/Flume.htm. You will also find promotional bookmarks, a brochure and an order form for the new Flume posters.
