Attention Mystery Lovers!!
Mysteries are back at Fuller Public Library in Hillsborough. Thanks to a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council we will be sponsoring the book discussion series “Mysteries on Both Sides of the Pond".
The stories in this series include professional and amateur detectives from both sides of the Atlantic. These page turners explore themes like justice, cultural differences, class distinctions, and gender roles in settings as diverse as the classic British country house murder mystery and the urban American “hard-boiled detective” novel.
We will kick off the series with the book The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie on April 24 with UNH professor Paul Goodwin. Discussion of the second book, First Light by Philip Craig and William Tapply, will be led by Olivia Smith of Colby-Sawyer College on May 15; and the last book of the spring series is St. Alban’s Fire by Archer Mayor. That discussion will be led by Clia Goodwin of UNH on June 5.
These programs are free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend. Books for this series will be available soon at the library. Please pick one up and plan to join us for these lively discussions to be held Thursday evenings at 7 PM at the library.
Refreshments will be served.
If special accommodations are needed for you to attend, please call the library in advance at 464-3595.
