Haunting
Rachel
by Kay Hooper
Rachel Grant's fiance disappeared ten
years ago and shattered her world. Now a man has come to town, a man who is an
exact twin of her lover, named Adam Delafield. He's been watching Rachel,
haunting her. He has a locket she gave her missing fiance and he claims to owe
her dead father three million dollars, although there's no record of a loan.
Adam can't prove his identity, and he always seems to be around whenever
accidents happen to Rachel. Who is he, really and what does he want with her?
Can Rachel unravel the mystery before the next attempt on her life
succeeds?
Kay Hooper's writing is tense, the story moving at a quick pace
to the harrowing conclusion. The book is an intriguing thriller with enough
twists and turns to keep a romantic suspense fan happy.
True Betrayals
by Nora Roberts
26-year old Kelsey Byden is in the middle of a
painful divorce when life throws her another curve ball: her long presumed dead
mother is actually alive, and has spent the last several years in prision for
murder. Kelsey's parents chose to lie to her rather than expose her to the
painful truth. After her mother is released from prison, Kelsey travels to her
Virginia horse farm to get to know her long-lost mother, Naomi, and falls in
love with both the horses and her mother's next door neighbor, gambler Gabe
Slater.
As her romance with Gabe heats up, a series of events that
include murder and sabotage threaten both their burgeoning relationship and
their lives. Kelsey, Gabe and Naomi have to race to discover who their enemy is
and why they are in danger.
Nora Roberts is a popular author, with many
different types of romance books under her belt. Despite its flaws, such as
cookie-cutter characters, the book moves at a fast pace, with lots of action and
colorful descriptions, making it a fun, light read.
