The Military Rifle Journal

Home page

Welcome to the home page of The Military Rifle Journal, a monthly newsletter dedicated to the identification, usage and history of the world’s military rifles. First published in January 1991, each issue is 29 pages long and consists of news/information, articles, and ads sections.

The information section includes letters, questions and answers, reports on new rifle imports, book reviews, and anything of interest to the military rifle collector and shooter.

The article section covers such topics as the history of various military rifles, new rifle acquisitions, shooting, restoring, reloading, museums featuring military rifles, etc. All of the articles are written by subscribers and much of the information is not available elsewhere.

The ads section includes for sale, for trade, and wanted sections as well as information on upcoming meetings of interest to the members.

This is now the fourth version of this web site and it is gradually growing. But, as you can see, it still needs improvement. Al Castle suggested the current format of not loading the entire site at first, so now the site is organized along the "table of contents" approach. The plan is still to continually improve this site so that eventually it will be a comprehensive source of information on military rifles, both new and old. This will include links to other web sites, but it will not try to duplicate these sites. Our goal is to maintain a site that contains a maximum of useful information, and a minimum of opinion.

Any comments, suggestions, etc., should be e-mailed to s_zielin@tec.nh.us.
