Japanese Beetles about to meet their fate


1.   A few drops of dish detergent or Safer's and a teaspoon of salt in about 1 1/2 cups warm water in a pan, ideally one with a handle. Hold pan underneath the insect(s) and tap into brew. Use this method and Coitus Interruptus against Japanese beetles and other prolific insects. You need to do it at least twice a day to be really effective.



2. Recognize their life cycles. Insects only have a few weeks to do their thing. If you hit them at the right time, they will not do substantial damage.

3.  Pepper Spray

In blender or processor, mix:

2 tablespoons hot, red pepper
2 cloves garlic 
1 tablespoon liquid soap
1 quart of water
Should be strained several times with damp jelly bag, muslim cloth, or several 
overlapping layers of cheesecloth, to prevent food from clogging the spray nozzle.
