In the Garden
Not much happening here thanks to a recent 12" snowfall.
In the Ornamental Beds and Meadow
A general rule of thumb to remember when to prune. Most plants that bloom before May should be pruned after they bloom and plants that bloom after May (considered summer-blooming) should be pruned just before spring growth.
Weather Log
The first week of March 2005 brought about 8" of snow one night and a low temp one night of 0° a couple days later. Extreme weather is alive.
By mid-month, another 12" and a low of -2°. Regional weather persons say the snowfall in our region (Central NH) is now 20" above the seasonal average. Given our slow start this winter, it comes as a surprise to us.
