In the Seeding Room
We dust off our seeding schedule, print it up, and tack it to the refrigerator. We use Microsoft Excel, since it can be sorted easily. Click on our Feedback button at left to request a copy, or make one to meet your needs. It is the Franklin Quest organizer for the active gardener!
In the Garden

Not much happening here thanks to a recent 12" snowfall.
In the Ornamental Beds and Meadow
A general rule of thumb to remember when to prune. Most plants that bloom before May should be pruned after they bloom and plants that bloom after May (considered summer-blooming) should be pruned just before spring growth.
Weather Log
The first week of March 2005 brought about 8" of snow one night and a low temp one night of 0° a couple days later. Extreme weather is alive.
By mid-month, another 12" and a low of -2°. Regional weather persons say the snowfall in our region (Central NH) is now 20" above the seasonal average. Given our slow start this winter, it comes as a surprise to us.
