Louisiana proverb: "Each cook knows his own pot best"  *

One of this cook's goals on retirement was to compile a searchable index
of my favorite recipes. Shirley's Recipes now resides
next to the kitchen counter. 

The database contains nutritional information that helped the editor seek low-fat, low-choleserol 
alternatives that would help her reduce soaring choleserol 
levels.

Our garden helps fill the pantry, so information on growing, preserving and 
storage is also included.  
    
Some recipes are heavily influenced if not stolen from 
Mom Dorrington's Recipes .
